JOAQUIM CHISSANO INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER
Overview of the venue
In order to equip Mozambique with the necessary infrastructure conditions for hosting major national and international events, the Government of Mozambique, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has built a convention centre named after the former President of the Republic of Mozambique, Joaquim Chissano. CICJC was inaugurated in June 2003 with the immediate objective of welcoming the II Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), which took place from 4 to 7 July 2003. Since its inauguration, CICJC has been welcoming several events, leading to two important realities: (I) CICJC’s ability to host, organize and coordinate major national and international events, and (ii) Its role in the implementation of the Country’s foreign policy.
Since its inauguration in June 2003, CICJC has welcomed several important national and international summits, thanks to its multiple facilities, classified into four important categories, namely:(I) Venue,(ii) Equipment,(iii) Services,(iv) Materials VENUE CICJC has spaces with different characteristics which allow hosting different types of events such as conferences, fairs/exhibitions, social events, corporate events, concerts and many others
