Visa Information

The general principle is that if you are not a Mozambican Citizen, you MUST have a visa to enter Mozambique. However, citizens of the following countries DO NOT need Visa:

Unless the purpose to enter Mozambique is to study, work or reside in the country, citizens of Brazil, Cabo Verde, China, Cuba, Guinee-Bissau, India, Portugal, S.Tomé e Principe, South Korea, and Vietnam, holders of an official or diplomatic passport are visa exempted to enter Mozambique.

Non-Mozambican citizens, who have a valid DIRE (residence permit) and/or required visa(s) are able to enter Mozambique, subject to the COVID-19 testing requirement below, without seeking specific authorization from the Ministry of Interior.

Tourists: For travellers arriving for tourism purposes only, visas are available upon arrival with proof of a return ticket and hotel booking. Please be aware that non-Mozambican citizens have been denied entry for not having obtained the proper type of visa in advance. Obtaining your visa in advance from the Mozambican Embassy in your country of residence is strongly encouraged.
